Goa is a small state on the west coast of India. Boundaries of Goa is bounded by Maharashtra state to the north and by Karnataka to east and south, while bounded with Arbian Sea by west side. State of Goa is Panaji and largest city in Goa is Vasco da Gama. Margo city which was one of the main head headquarters of Portuguese demonstrated culture of Portuguese. Goa covers an area of 3,702 sq. km and there are two Goa districts North Goa and South Goa. Goa was part of Union territory with Daman and Diu till 30 May 1987. On 30 May 1987 splitting of Union territory made Goa 28th states of India. In Goa approximately 383 villages out of which 233 villages are in North Goa district and 150 villages are in South Goa district.

As per the survey of 2011 Population of Goa is 1,457,723 out of which male population is about 740,711 while female population is 717,012. In 2011, population of Goa forms approximately 0.12 percent. Hindi, Marathi, Konkani and English are major languages of Goa but Konkani is now official Goa language. During the ruled of Portuguese till 1961 Portuguese language was official Goa language. Portuguese language is also famous amongst the Goa Peoples.

The main rivers in the Goa are Mandovi, Zuari, Terekhol, Chapora, Sal, Triacol, Betul and Talpona. Forests cover area of 1424 sq km in Goa. Coconuts trees are present almost each part of Goa. Goa is one of the developed and finest states in India with respect of finance and environment.

Goa Peoples speak Konkani which is the mother tongue and official language of Goa. English, Marathi, Hindi and Portuguese are also speak in Goa. Goa is an outstanding place which has a mixed culture with Hindu, Islamic and Christian religions that make Goa Unique place. People of Goa are very moderate on others faiths and religion. Hindu, Muslim and catholic community live with peace and synchronization by respecting each other's religious belief. Rule Portuguese was existed about 450 years till it was take over by India in 1961. Goa culture drinks and languages are bent during rule of the Portuguese. Western influences on the lifestyle in Goa are the impact of Portuguese. In Goa there are lots of good places for discovering Portuguese Culture. Many people have changed their religion to Christian during the reign of Portuguese but their heart still belongs to India.
